Presenter: Michael S. Block, DDS, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Metairie, Louisiana

We all see patients who have loss of their anterior teeth either at an early age or later on in life. Dental restoration has a finite life expectancy and when they fail often lead to loss of soft and hard tissue. Implants placed in the anterior maxilla may fail for a variety of reasons, with similar loss of tissue. This presentation will attempt to demonstrate which preoperative conditions lead to excellent esthetic results with fixed prosthetics with no need of pink gingival substitutes. It will also show patients who must have prosthetic materials to substitute for loss of tissue. The use of digital planning combined with cone beam imaging can lead us to refine implant placement with navigation methods. Multiple case examples will be shown.
