Event description

Description

Restore America’s Estuaries is working with the NOAA Restoration Center to scope out a new online “Toolkit” to support coastal residents who identify problems with their local coastal environment. Staff at public agencies and non-profit organizations often receive phone calls or applications from individuals outside the professional restoration community who have a sincere desire to restore local habitats, but don’t know where to begin. Resources to help solve these local challenges have been diminishing, but the desire to assist has not. That’s where the toolkit comes in – it provides a launching point and source of information for people looking to solve what they see as a problem in their community.

We would like you to attend so we can hear what’s important to you and your community. Participants will be asked for their assistance on what kind of tool(s) and information will help people make a difference on behalf of their coasts.

Not only will you have a say in the toolkit, but you’ll also be able to meet and network with other members of the coastal community. It’ll be a chance to discuss the challenges holding back restoration efforts as well as an opportunity to exchange ideas on practices and the best ways to move forward. Our goal is to create a resource and an event that will benefit you and your community.

We appreciate your time and input and look forward to seeing you. If you cannot attend the workshop but have input or questions, please contact Elsa Schwartz at eschwartz@estuaries.org.

Please feel free to share this invitation widely. Please note that space is limited and registration is required so sign up now! Lunch will be provided.
