Since founding Restore One in 2012, Anna has worked with men and boys as they moved towards recovery. Linda, Director of The Anchor House, has worked with sexually abused and exploited youth and adults since 1997. Throughout their work with survivors and their own personal experiences, they have noticed that many service providers feel ill-equipped to work effectively with sex trafficked males. They recognize that often the conversation regarding services for sex trafficked survivors overlooks boys and men, resulting in stigmas, lack of acknowledgment, and scarcity of resources for this population. The objectives of our training are to dispel common myths of males and sexual harm; distinguish the specifics of trauma informed care that are essential for the restoration of men and boys; and to encourage the creative process of developing treatments that address mind, body, and soul. You will be invited to: reconsider your perspective of adolescence; learn the fundamentals of trauma informed care for males who’ve experienced sexual harm; and to consider how your story influences your work with survivors.
Drinks, water and snacks will be provided during the time.
