“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
God calls us to periodically rest from work and ministry responsibilities. Retreating from the daily stresses of life allows God to reveal Himself as well as new directions for ministry. God set the example by resting from His work of creating the heavens and earth on the seventh day. We can follow the Lord’s instructions to the Israelites to take time for Sabbath rest and trust that He will be present with us.
Join other Cleveland-area alumni for an overnight retreat centered on rest and sustaining spiritual focus in ministry. As guests of River’s Edge, you may enjoy the pool and workout room. The century old, beautifully maintained facility helps foster personal transformation. Enjoy 40 acres of greenery including pathways that lead to areas that represent spiritual landscape archetypes. Take advantage of the many sitting rooms and spaces for personal reflection and prayer.
A limited number of single occupancy rooms are available at River's Edge. Additional standard rooms are available at the nearby Marroitt hotel (4277 W. 150th St, Cleveland, OH 44135). In order to fully benefit from the experience, attendees are encouraged not to commute home during the retreat. Commuting is permissible if your schedule does not allow for an overnight stay, however. You may select your preference during the registration process. All options are complimentary for alumni & friends.
Enjoy all meals on the grounds of River's Edge. Workbook materials and "Bread for the Journey" by Henri Nouwen will be provided upon check in.
