About this event
The MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountain Access Forum and Kerry UNESCO Biosphere Reserve will provide an Outdoor ethics, environmental awareness and sustainable tourism training course in Kerry to complement and enhance existing local knowledge.. This training forms part of the ongoing work of the MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountain Access Forum and The Kerry UNESCO Biosphere Reserve to develop and improve knowledge of responsible outdoor access, local conservation concerns and sustainable tourism within the Kerry Biosphere Area.
The course is designed to raise awareness at local level of the areas access trails, its habitats and how to properly interact with them. It is designed for those involved in the tourism and community or recreation sectors. It is designed specifically to meet local needs and it is introductory in nature.
Course delivery is planned to coincide with the availability of business owners within the area in the shoulder season. The course will take place on the 24th and the 25th of October at the Brehon Hotel Killarney.
