Violence across the country is rampant. There seems to be no limit to the venues: large cities, rural settings, entertainment places, houses of worship, homes, workplaces and even healthcare facilities. How do we as healthcare leaders address these challenges leaving our neighbors and friends dead or wounded? How do we as healhcare leaders address the aftermath in the community, the societal issues as well as the costs of such carnage? Gain insigiht into how Parkland Health and Hospital System responded to the Dallas community violence on July 8,2016. Gain an understanding of the conflicting roles and challenges of the first responders, whether they are at the scene or at the receiving medical centers. Learn the needs of the providers and how the facilities are addressing their needs.

Join Jim Dunn, Executive Vice President and Chief Talent Officer for Parkland Health and Hopsital System, as Jim shares his personal and organizational insight into the tragic events in Dallas. Jim's background in Human Resources, Compensation and Benefits Planning and Talent Development are pivotal to his other role-- registered professinal mediator, specializing in workplace conflict resolution strategies. Among his academic credentials, Jim holds an MPH in Occupational Health from the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University. In additon, he holds a BS in Chemistry from Howard and an MBA from Sloan School of Management (MIT). He holds multiple doctoral degrees from Emory (education), Benedictine University (organizational development) and the the Medical College of South Carolina (healthcare administration).
