Responding with Kindness #OrlandoStandsWithPittsburgh
Event Information
Description
Orlando's Pulse-Affected community and Jewish community have come together to create a community art event to express our solidarity to those affected by the tragedy at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
When Orlando experienced the tragedy at Pulse nightclub, we were greeted with an outpour of love from both within and outside of our city. We want to let Pittsburgh feel some of that love by sending them artwork while reminding Orlando's community that we did, and we continue to, respond to hate with kindness. Those of all religions, backgrounds, and ages are welcome to stop by at the Orlando United Assistance Center (507 East Michigan St., Orlando, FL 32803) on Thursday, November 8th from 6PM-8PM. We will be coming together to connect, grieve, and heal as we create individual art pieces to send to Pittsburgh while working together to create a collaborative art piece to have here in Orlando.
We look forward to an evening of spray painting, writing messages of hope, listening to music, and supporting one another as we heal through action. No artistic talent is necessary. Light food and refreshments will be provided. RSVP not required to attend but encouraged so that we can make sure we have enough supplies.
Please reserve a ticket to RSVP*
