Testimony - Survivor Janet Paulsen
In 2015, Janet Paulsen appeared to have the perfect suburban life. She and her husband of 15 years owned a business, she was a mother to twin boys, she volunteered her time. However, her husband was abusive, even going so far, as to call her father to say he was going to kill her. A judge granted her a temporary protective order and just 5 days later her husband shot her six times in her driveway, paralyzing her from the waist down. He then shot himself, taking his life. “I got lucky that night, it was just me. He was waiting on me, my children, and my dad...most women don’t make it.” she said.
