Event description
Convening white spiritual and faith leaders from a range of traditions to deepen our commitment to lead thru a racial justice lens.

About this Event

“White people...have quite enough to do in learning how to accept and love themselves and each other, and when they have achieved this -- which will not be tomorrow and may very well be never -- the Negro problem will no longer exist, for it will no longer be needed.” James Baldwin

Join us to find community of support, consider everyday responsibilities and envision for your spiritual leadership for collective liberation and beyond.

For generations, BIPOC leaders have called for white people to take up the work of anti-racist organizing in white communities, to build up the base of white people committed to racial justice, collective liberation, and joining BIPOC led + multiracial movements.

This workshop is one of many responses to that call. Our aims for this workshop series are to :

  • Support anti-racist leadership and ministry, developing anti-racist resilience and courage;
  • Recognize how internalized white supremacy and patriarchy currently impact our leadership style and evolve an identity grounded in racial justice/feminist understanding and practice;
  • Learn specific practices for centering and remaining present to the chaotic and unfamiliar ways in which white supremacy and patriarchy manifests in ourselves and others; and
  • Re-Commit to specific opportunities for racial justice work inside and outside your faith community.

“If we don’t organize white people around their suffering, we know someone else will.”

- Linda Burnham, Black Feminist Movement Strategist

4 Tuesday Zoom calls: March 16th, 30th and April 13th, 27th 3:00-5:00PM EST
