Registration 8.45AM for a 9AM start

Lunch and morning tea provided

The first half of the day will be presented by VCAA and is hands-on using the Victorian Curriculum for planning a teaching and learning program. It will explore the Health and Personal & Social Capability Curriculum including the changes that need to be made to address this curriculum, including the following:

  • An overview of the curriculum structure
  • Introduction to the Health and Personal and Social Capability areas of the Victorian Curriculum and identifying where schools are at
  • What is respectful relationships and how it relates to the Victorian Curriculum?
  • Importance of a whole school approach
  • Strategies for explicit teaching and assessment
  • Planning for implementation
    • Relationship to other curriculum areas
    • Progressing learning
    • Whole school planning
  • Resources for teaching and assessment
  • Supporting development of curriculum plans, including
    • Teaching and learning plans to address the Victorian Curriculum for Health and the Personal and Social Capability
    • Identification of teaching and learning resources
    • Planning for assessment.

The afternoon session will be a hands on introduction workshop unpacking the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationship teaching and learning materials, examining the research and providing a chance to use the classroom activities.

It will focus on the first four topics and include:

  • Introduction to RRRR
  • Emotional literacy
  • Personal strengths
  • Positive coping
  • Stress management

The last four topics will be offered by two x 1 hour Polycom sessions to be held on December 7th and 14th from 4pm - 5pm. These topics are:

  • Problem solving
  • Help seeking
  • Gender and Identity
  • Positive gender relations.

This is for Respectful Relationships Lead and Partner Schools in the Ovens Murray Area.
