Description

This workshop will assist participants to gain knowledge and understanding of key concepts relating to gender, gender equity and the prevention of violence against women. The session will provide an understanding of the difference between gender and sex; knowledge and skills to recognise gender inequities; the link between gender inequity/gender stereotypes and violence against women; and skills to address gender inequities and sexism as an individual, community member and in the workplace.

It will also provide participants with knowledge and skills in identifying family violence and responding to disclosures. This session will provide opportunities to actively participate in case studies.

Please note: This professional development workshop is available to schools in the Ovens Murray and Goulburn areas who are signed up to the Respectful Relationships Initiative.
