FAQs

What can I expect at the Youth Summit?

There will be approximately 75-100 youth and around 20 adult volunteers working to create a safe, affirming environment for all participants. The summit features guest speakers, fun activities, educational workshops and a dance, all on Towson University's campus.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Participants should dress confidently and comfortably! Come as you are! No need for business casual attire--jeans, shorts and tees are O.K. Keep in mind there will be a dance at the end of the day. Some participants bring a change of clothes for the dance. Avoid offensive images or language, or other obscene clothing choices.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This event is for high school-aged youth and GSA advisors (teachers) only. We may ask for identification at any time. We reserve the right to remove any participant at any time for any reason.

Do I have to identify as LGBTQ to attend?

Nope! This event is for LGBTQ-identified youth as well as their allies. If you are a supportive ally, wanting to learn more about supporting the LGBTQ community, please join us!

Can I bring my parent/adult?

This event is for youth and teachers only. In order to keep everyone safe, adults or parents will not be permitted at the event. If you bring a friend, they must be high school-aged.

I'm a GSA Advisor or Teacher, what can I expect?

We are thrilled you are planning to join us! Hopefully you brought your GSA members along, or interested students. There will be a GSA Advisor roundtable, as well as other special programming for teachers.

Parking is FREE on Towson University's campus in the Union Garage. Directions to the university can be found here.
