Event description

Description

Join the Verdani Institute for the Built Environment and the University of San Diego (USD) for a Resilience Collaboration workshop on Friday, November 17, 2017 at USD's Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.

During the workshop, participants will collaborate on developing new strategies to help rebuild recently displaced communities in a more resilient and sustainable way. Speakers will also share solutions for temporary housing, energy and water generation, and more. During the workshop we will focus on both short and long-term solutions. Let us know if you are interested in participating. We need architects, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers, urban planners, landscape architects, resiliency and sustainability professionals, housing organizations, industry associations, local government reps, utility reps, and much more!

We will start with a 90 Minutes webinar presentation in which different experts will share their experiences and recommendations on the topic. Non-local experts can contribute and participate on the presentation portion of our meeting remotely.

We have created a sign up sheet for experts with specific skills that we would like to have represented at the workshop and will share more event details soon. Let us know if you would like to be one of the speakers.

We would love to exchange ideas with others that are interested in this topic so we can better support each other as a global community! Please like our Facebook page to collaborate with us on an ongoing basis:

Please note that we have a limited number of spaces for the event. Please register if you are intrested so we can plan accordingly. The event is free but you will need to pay for parking at the university and we might ask for a small contribution to cover the lunch which will be catered by the University.

Thank you and we are looking forward to collaborating with you on this important event.
