RESILIENCE: Weathering the Storms of Life

Two-day Symposium featuring Maj. Gen. Bob Dees (Ret.)

JUNE 26 & 27, 2020

Registration includes a BONUS Reception & Concert with musical guest Michael O'Brien - please RSVP

Join Hope For The Heart's June Hunt and Dr. Eric Scalise as they share together with featured speaker Maj. Gen. Bob Dees (Ret.) for a time of personal and professional growth as we learn how to apply God's principles and encourage one another to be Resilient. Worship will be led by Michael O’Brien, Christian musician and 20-year music veteran. Learn more about each presenter below.

What You'll Learn at the Resilience Symposium:

You’ll receive biblical insights on recovery factors that can help Christians bounce back from trauma and stress. This is an opportunity to deepen your knowledge and understanding of resilience as a powerful and critical life skill.

Grief and loss, trauma, anxiousness, loneliness and isolation, depression, suicidal thoughts and actions . . . these are some of the devastating conditions that follow many of life’s “body slams.” How people weather these storms, will often determine their ability to successfully bounce back.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • One out of four children will experience a significant traumatic event, before the age of 16, which will result in an psychological injury in some form.

  • We have been at war longer than at any other time in our history. Combat trauma and its related aftermath (e.g. post-traumatic stress, complicated grief reactions, etc.) are now widely recognized problems.

  • Our long-held values of faith, religious liberty, and Judeo-Christian principles are also increasingly coming under fire.

Is the church ready to step forward with compassion to effectively address what is becoming a national crisis?

This symposium is designed especially for mental health practitioners, ministry leaders, coaches and lay caregivers! Continuing Education (CE)* hours are available for licensed professionals needing to fulfill an annual requirement.

*It is solely the responsibility of the licensee to know and understand the rules and qualifications of what is considered acceptable CE credit for their specific practice or field of study.
