Event description
A program focusing on the benefits of developing resilience to counteract the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

About this Event

The impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are visible in all communities. Our community is no exception. The good news is that Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) can help counteract the negative impacts of ACEs. Educating ourselves about ACEs and PCEs can help us build resilience--especially in our children and youth.

On March 8, 2020, you are invited to join the CPC Social Justice Ministry Team and the Resilience Ministry Team from St. Paul's Episcopal Church as we examine the impact of ACEs and their effect on physical and mental health in our own community.

The first part of the program will begin at 12:00 pm (noon) in the Cary Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. The program will include a short video that summarizes the information in the film Resilience (PBS, November 2019). This viewing will be followed by lunch in the CPC Fellowship Hall and a discussion about using PCEs to help counteract the negative impacts of ACEs.

The program is free, but registration via Eventbrite is required for lunch and the discussion which follows. Participation is open to adults age 18 or older.

Registration ends March 5, 2020.
