Description

Join us for lunch and an afternoon of celebration and fun at the Science Museum of Minnesota! We will be celebrating another successful school year and honoring Dr. Wilhemina Holder for her service to WISE. The event will include a keynote presentation by Asma Mohammed, special performances, and an appearance by artist Lady Midnight.

Each ticket includes admission to the Science Museum of Minnesota for the day.

We will have Oromo, Somali, Karen, Nepali, Spanish, Swahili and Hmong interpreters available.


Keynote Speaker Bio
Asma Mohammed is a professional from Minneapolis with a background in education, political organizing, and nonprofit operations. Asma currently serves as the Program Manager at Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood for Empowerment, where she directs civic engagement efforts that amplify the voices of Muslim women. Her other current projects include serving on the board for Break the Silence MN, a group focused on giving voice to survivors of sexual violence and is also a current fellow at the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute. In the past, Asma has served as an organizer on Senator Franken's campaign and spent 8 years as an educator in Minneapolis. Asma is most passionate about intersectional politics, mentoring her former students, and being branded the "best khala ever" by her four nieces.
