Description

RESILIENCE 2018: Skills & Support for Intervention & Helping Professionals

For anyone working in a stressful intervention/helping field -- law enforcement, social work, counseling, first response, health/medicine, education, animal welfare and countless other lines of work -- this new, year-round RESILIENCE program offers invaluable training and support. Participants will develop personal and professional skills to build resiliency, increase work satisfaction, prevent helper fatigue and avoid burnout.

Licensed professional counselors from the Counseling & Education Center (CEC) and the Western Slope Center for Children (The Center) will facilitate these sessions. Thanks to a grant from the Western Colorado Community Foundation, the only cost for this year-round program is $40, which covers the price of the participant manual. Other partner agencies in this collaborative program include Mesa County Public Health, Hilltop Community Resources, Roice-Hurst Humane Society and the Grand Junction Police Department.

The first RESILIENCE session will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 1-4 pm at The Center, 2350 G Road, Grand Junction. Managers will identify up to three agency staff to participate in the monthly sessions, which will be held on the third Friday of each month.

CRUCIAL - Leadership Orientation Breakfast on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 8-10 am at The Center, 2350 G Road, Grand Junction. Full complimentary breakfast included.

Please register soon! Interest is high and space is limited.
