Event Details

Designed for Businesses, Schools, Shopping Malls, Houses of Worship and Outdoor Events

A holiday party in San Bernardino, an elementary school in Newtown, a church in Charleston, an outdoor race in Boston, and a military installation in Washington, DC.  All have recently been scenes of horrific violence against the innocent.

Ask Yourself the Following:

Do I know why these incidents happen?

Am I aware of any patterns to such crimes?

What do I do in an active shooter (killer) situation?

Does my organization have an active shooter (killer) response plan?

What kind of training is needed – and available?

Overview

This intense 5-hour, awareness-level course is designed for employers,

employees and security professionals to better understand:

  • Lessons learned from current research on active shooter (killer) incidents
  • Legal considerations of an active shooter (killer) incident at your workplace
  • A review of active shooter (killer) incidents in the U.S. and overseas – with an emphasis on patterns and trends
  • How to prepare, as an individual and as an organization, to avoid, deter or delay an active shooter (killer) incident
  • “Hardening” your facilities, improving your procedures, and training your greatest assets: your people and yourself
  • Equipment considerations (safety, medical, etc.)
  • Training considerations (both individual and organizational)
  • Communication (both internal and external, to include 9-1-1)
  • What happens AFTER the incident (employee needs, business continuity, and liability/risk considerations)

Format

This course is conducted in a relaxed adult-learning classroom environment and taught by qualified law enforcement instructors with extensive military combat experience. It is designed to provide relevant information (through lecture) and then facilitate engagement among the attendees (through discussions and a culminating table-top exercise). This format will improve and internalize each attendee’s understanding of the course material which allows them to (1) envision their current status and (2) develop actionable next steps where learnings can be re-applied based on their unique professional (or personal) situations.  Attendees will be provided with a spiral binder with all presentation slides, resources and reference materials.

Cost

$99 per person
