Event description

Description

The Sadie Collective and the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy at the Brookings Institution invite you to a research and networking reception, from 4:00-6:15 pm on Thursday, February 20. The evening will include a research poster session featuring graduate and undergraduate research by black women in economics and related fields. You can preview our research poster presenters here. Refreshments will be served.

The Sadie Collective is an non-profit organization, which aims to address the pipeline and pathway problem for Black women at different stages in their academic and/or professional careers in quantitatively demanding fields like economics, finance, data science, and public policy. The Collective also seeks to provide resources, programs, and a community to members and advocates for broader visibility in the field; the group hosts the annual Sadie T. M. Alexander Conference for Economics and Related Fields in honor of the first African-American economist.

This event will serve as a kick-off to the 2020 conference, Vision 20/20: Revive. Restore. Reclaim. The conference will be held across the following two days at the Urban Institute; tickets are currently sold out and the room has reached capacity. More information about it may be found here.
