Description

New Directions in Youth Mentoring with Dr. Jean Rhodes

Mentoring programs are increasingly being asked to provide targeted, evidence-based services to the address the diverse circumstances and needs that youth are facing. Although more specialized programs can provide care that matches the needs of their target population with specificity and rigor, more general programs rarely have the capacity to deliver the full range of needed, targeted services. In this presentation, Umass Boston Professor Jean Rhodes will draw on decades of research and present new models, including “embedded mentoring,” through which they work with youth who are learning and practicing evidence-based approaches in other settings. This and other approaches, which leverages the best of prevention and clinical science can increase the likelihood of lasting improvements in youth.

Breakfast and networking begin at 9:30AM and the program starts at 10AM.
