Event description

Description

Please join us for monthly Coworking meetups revolving around scientific computing and HPC.

Coworking is a style of work that involves people (from a wide variety of backgrounds) working in a shared workspace. (Some communities call this a CoWork, others a studio, in essence it's people working around, and with, each other!)
In our case, we’d like to invite other HPCers to a Co-Working space to work on their research.

Benefits:
People with some common interests working alongside each other can be good for encouraging collaborations, transfer of knowledge and building community. In the worst case you get some free food and some of your work done. In the ideal case you learn something new, make a new connection, help solve a problem and better connect with the MSU community.

Who can attend:
Ideally, people from a variety of departments and expertise would all show up and sit together to do their research. This would include iCER Research Specialists, HPCC system administrators, faculty, post-docs, graduates, undergraduates, etc. Basically anyone from across campus working on research computing.

Agenda:
There is no set agenda and you don't even have to be actively working on the HPC system. Just show up, eat some free food, enjoy a different working enviornment and create community with your peers. We will have an epad set up when you get there where you can "check-in" share some keywords/interests/goals - this will help to facilitate the connections.
