Description

Rescue Trauma and Casualty Care (RTACC) is a 3 day course and offers one of the most versatile training packages currently available for Medical & Trauma Casualty care.

The RTACC course is desgined to teach the clinical techniques and management skills required in the pre-hospital and initial in-hospital phase; from trauma to other pre-hospital incidents and life-threatening events. It consists of lectures, skill stations and scenario based training. It also contains specialized modules focusing on the management of drug overdoses, penetrating trauma and cardiac arrest. RTACC is designed to advance the skills of the candidate at every level using more detail, more equipment and a more extensive assessment.

RTACC is part of the Integrated Emergency Care Programme (IECP) developed by the world renowned ATACC Faculty.

Tea and coffee will be provided.

Adequate outdoor clothing is essential. This course runs outdoors, regardless of the weather. The aim of the course is to teach in as realistic a setting as possible. We make full use of the facilities at the Fire Training Ground.

TRAVEL TO NELSON

Driving

Nelson is located 663 km from Vancouver and 624 km from Calgary. It is situated at the junction of provincial Highway 3A and Highway 6.


Airports

Air Canada offers daily flights from Vancouver and Calgary into Castlegar Regional Airport, 40 km from Nelson. National and Budget Car rentals are available at the Airport. Other airports include Trail Airport and Cranbrook Airport.
