Event description

Description

Transition time from a traumatic incident to a “safe scene”, where Emergency Services can respond can be critical and lifesaving treatment needs to be administered. This gap in time is often the deciding factor whether an injured person lives or dies. Proper RTF Essential Medical Care can be administered by the Rescue Task Force Provider and will save lives and offers a mitigation strategy to a problem that has historically been unaddressed. Most importantly it allows the RTF Provider to be an asset and not a liability while a victim(s) of a critical incident could have otherwise laid helplessly bleeding out.
The Rescue Task Force-Essential Medicine Course teaches the Responder to administer lifesaving treatment to themselves or a casualty that has sustained a life threatening injury. The course covers the three preventable causes of combat death and the treatment for all three. The training provided by Combat First Aid is developed from Tactical Combat Causality Care (TCCC) – military medical curriculum. This course has been adapted using evidence based medicine and treatment and is relevant to medical and non-medical Rescue Task Force Responders.
