Why “Rescue” California – and America

We have entered a new era of great risk for conservative, common sense tax / fiscal policies, energy policies, health practices, spending priorities and the size of government (federal, state, local) etc.

Much progress has been made on tax reform / economic growth, jobs, private investment etc. per the Federal Tax Reform Legislation of 2017. But, just as all this reality is setting in, the socialists / progressives in California and nationally are calling for policies destructive of our progress:

  • Ending our tax reform and increasing tax rates

  • Introducing a wealth tax and increasing the “Death Tax”

  • Pushing “single payer” socialized medicine

  • Killing our resurgent energy industry, which has made our nation number one in the world in conven-

tional gas, oil and coal production, through the “Green New Deal.”

When – in response to the 70% wealth tax proposal – national polling revealed majority popular support we knew we were in deep trouble and had failed to educate our nation on the great success of our tax reform / tax rate reduction legislation. So the National Tax Limitation Committee and Foundation (NTLC and NTLF) are tak- ing the “bull by the horns” to help rectify our situation nationally. But we have decided to launch this effort in California to achieve maximum visibility in the state that has moved left more than any other, but which is the home of Ronald Reagan and some of the best tax policies of the last century:

    • Sponsoring a luncheon and policy conference on Tax Day (April 15, 2019) in Sacramento featuring Art Laffer (and the Laffer Curve) and break-out sessions on issues key to California but shared by other states: increased property taxes on business properties and rent control (we plan to sponsor other Laf- fer featured events in the Fall at (possibly) the Reagan Library and in Orange / San Diego counties). We are calling this event – most appropriately – “Rescue” California and have key policy makers – Jon Coupal (Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association) and John Kabateck (NFIB leader for California) hosting the break-out sessions.

    • Launching an outreach and training program for small, community, family businesses and their emploees statewide to build a new base of citizens committed to good policies for business survival and growth. Nearly 50% of California small businesses are owned and operated by Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and families from India, offering us new advocates for sound business-oriented policies (BI-PAC has long since demonstrated the power of employers to influence policy decisions of their employees). We are calling this “Pro Small Biz CA” (a special project of NTLC / NTLF) under the guidance of a dynamic former small businessman Jack Frost. We will expand this nationwide as we learn from our California effort how to do it most effectively.

    • Mount a national educational effort on good tax policy to train our base to be more knowledgeable and effective using Fox News, radio talk shows, webinars, podcasts, social media featuring the best minds / persuaders we have worked with nationally and in California over the years.

Please join us and be part of this history-making effort.
