Join LAI Baltimore for the second part of a two-part program on the Baltimore Area Real Estate Market. Part 2 will focus on Commercial Real Estate with Michael Lester, Managing Director, Willowbrook Valuation & Advisory Services and Ed Steere, Managing Director, Planning and Market Analysis at Valbridge Property Advisors.

Michael Lester has been a commercial real estate professional since 1995. He is experienced in complex commercial property appraisal, transportation and regional planning, environmental advocacy, community development, and geographic information systems (GIS). Michael opened the Maryland Valuation and Advisory Services office for Colliers, serving local and institutional clients and grew gross billings to $1.2M in 2017. He led Baltimore valuation practice for CBRE, serving local and institutional clients and increased gross billings by 300% from 2014 to 2016. Previously, he was a fee appraiser with Lipman Frizzell & Mitchell, specializing in hotels, residential subdivisions and apartments. He is licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Delaware and Virginia, and a designated MAI member of the Appraisal Institute and has a master’s degree in Community Planning from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree from Boston University.

Ed Steere’s experience has spanned nearly three decades as a professional in land planning, real estate research, marketing, development, appraisal and public policy across the Mid-Atlantic region. Ed’s experience includes both public- and private-sector land planning and zoning; feasibility and site design for development projects including institutional, residential, commercial and industrial; market and financial feasibility analyses for major real estate projects, including mixed use; due diligence research and project entitlement; and advising clients concerning development strategies. He has an MS in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University, BFA from Syracuse University, and is an American Planning Association American Institute of Certified Planners. His professional experience includes: Valbridge Property Advisors, Lipman Frizzell & Mitchell LLC, EMSPlanning LLC, Frederick Ward Associates, Harford County Planning & Zoning, Chester County Planning Commission, and Fairfax County Public Works.


What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Street parking available and a parking garage on the corner of West Baltimore Street and Poppleton Street (1 N. Poppleton Street).  The garage takes cash only.  There is an ATM machine at The Harbor Bank of Maryland located at 800 W. Baltimore Street.

The Baltimore Chapter was formed in 1992. We host program luncheons with a speaker addressing a timely topic, and engaging discussion. The discussions are just as informative and stimulating as the presentations, given that the unique audience of highly knowledgeable “land economics” experts with diverse interests and perspectives. The luncheon meetings provide continuing opportunities for chapter members to stay abreast and develop and nuture personal friendships and business relationships with other members and invited guests.
