Event description

Description

“Please join us for an in-service about implementing programs for children on the autism spectrum. As knowledge about children with special needs and autism grows more and more every day, it is imperative that libraries respond and create effective programming for children that have special needs. STEP TN (Support and Training for Exceptional Parents) will be providing a workshop called “Literacy for All”, which gives tips and solutions for helping children with disabilities achieve literacy goals. Kate Smith, youth services coordinator from TSLA, and Gina Summer, network services consultant with the state, will also have a session on their experiences working with children on the spectrum and what programs you can do to be inclusive to autistic and special needs individuals. We look forward to seeing you October 11th at 9 am for this informative and exciting day to learn how to serve an exceptional group of patrons.”
