Event description

Description

See our lobby exhibit The Shape of Fashion, then stay for a screening of the film, Funny Face, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Even with costumes by legendary designer Edith Head, this classic film was not an immediate hit. Based on the love story of noted fashion and portrait photographer Richard Avedon (whose character, Dick Avery, is played by Fred Astaire) and his first wife (characterized in the movie as shy bookstore clerk Jo Stockton, played by Audrey Hepburn), the movie features Jo’s reluctant transformation into an international model.

Before the film begins, enjoy free samples of local microbrews while they last. Lobby-level exhibits are open all evening; the Museum Shop is open until 8 p.m
