Accion and the Midtown Manhattan Small Business Development Center are excited to bring you a moderated panel discussion on data solutions for your business to improve marketability, product development, and sales.

The event will include networking, presentations, a moderated panel discussion from leaders in data science and business followed by opportunities to ask questions for your business.

Our panelists include:

Joseph Galarneau is founder of Mezzobit, a New York-based start-up that offers tools for digital brands to manage and monitor Internet data relationships with business partners. He also founded DataNeutrality.org, a non-profit organization created to set standards of socially responsible data collection.
Prior to Mezzobit, Joe was chief product officer for NewsRight, a consortium of 29 major media companies to create a global marketplace for news content and data. Joe also served as chief operating officer and digital general manager of The Newsweek/Daily Beast Company and was chief technology officer for two leading online brands. A frequent speaker on digital media, Joe is a founding academic advisor for the Yale University Publishing Course, and was an adjunct faculty member at New York University, where he taught digital product management, web/mobile analytics, and audience development. He frequently teaches digital media internationally, having visited China, India, and Eastern Europe to deliver dozens of seminars.


Richard D. Holowczak is presently an Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems and is Director of the Bert W. and Sandra Wasserman Trading Floor / Subotnick Financial Services Center in the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the College of New Jersey, an M.S. in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and M.B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Rutgers University. His research focuses on financial information technologies, digital libraries, electronic commerce and networked information systems. Prof. Holowczak is also Director of the Baruch Options Data Warehouse, a repository of research quality equity options and related financial market data.


Dayna Sessa is the managing partner of Datanomy Group, a data analytics firm that works with executives in companies and healthcare organizations to help them better understand and use their data. Sessa has a background in engineering and prior to starting her own small business, she was a management consultant and held executive roles in private companies. Recently, she was selected as a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses scholar and as a Tory Burch Foundation entrepreneur.
