Event description

Description

This outing will include a relatively easy hike of about 1.2 miles in the area surrounding the lake at the Sherando recreation area. You can see a map, photos, and a brief description of the hike here: https://www.hikingproject.com/trail/7043601/lakeside-trail.

Along the way, will talk about Wild Virginia’s programs, using the surroundings you’ll encounter to illustrate the issues we address and how we pursue our goals.

This will be a good chance for people not familiar with our work to learn about us and to see why you need to be a Wild Virginian. For those who are already supporters, you’ll probably learn some things as well.

Since the temperatures may still be pretty low, you’ll need to dress accordingly. We’ll meet at the Sherando recreation area at about 11 a.m. and probably end at around 3 p.m., to take advantage of the best daylight hours and temperatures. Bring lunch, snacks, and water.

We’ll get you more information about carpooling and other details as the date gets nearer.
