35th International Meeting on Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors

The U.S. Department of Energy / National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Global Threat Reduction will host the “RERTR 2013 International Meeting on Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors” with the support of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The meeting is being organized by Argonne National Laboratory and Idaho National Laboratory and will be held in Chicago, IL USA from October 27-30, 2013. This will be the 35th annual meeting in a series on the same general subject regarding conversion of reactors within the Global Threat Reduction Initiative.
Information will be exchanged on the progress of national and international programs to develop low-enriched uranium (LEU) fuels and conversion analysis studies to convert research and test reactors to the use of such fuels.
Meeting topics:
The meeting technical subjects will include:
- development of new LEU fuels,
- design and safety analyses for reactor conversions,
- transportation and storage of spent fuels, and
- HEU minimization for Global Threat Reduction
Target Audience: Technical and policy experts.
Meeting venue:
The meeting venue will be at the Embassy Suites Chicago - Downtown/Lakefront Hotel. Block of rooms are available at this hotel.
