Description

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS OF ROMANI WOMEN AND GIRLS

2020 EU Romani Week

About this Event

Romani women and girls continue to face human rights violations and multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination in all spheres of life, including in the field of health care. The gravity of the human rights violations they continue to face particularly in reproductive health care settings is severe and requires strong legal and policy actions by governments and other institutions at all levels, including at the European Union level.

This session of the 2020 EU Romani Week will bring together Romani women activists from Central and Eastern Europe and other civil society representatives, EU and national policy makers and other stakeholders to discuss actions and measures that policy makers should take to effectively address, remedy, and prevent these violations and discrimination faced by Romani women and girls in reproductive health care settings and to ensure Romani women and girls’ access to quality sexual and reproductive health services.

The session will be hosted by MEP Evin Incir (S&D), MEP Terry Reintke (Greens/EFA), and MEP Malin Björk (GUE/NGL).

Please register by 16 March 2020.

Please note that the event organizers do not cover participants' travel and subsistence costs.
