In partnership with the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, Pet+E.R. presents an evening of learning for Maryland veterinarians on understanding and complying with the state's new mandatory abuse reporting law.

Melinda Merck, DVM, of Veterinary Forensics Consulting LLC will cover:

  • An overview of Maryland’s new mandatory reporting law
  • Recognition of suspected abuse
  • Most common types of abuse that are seen
  • Developing Standard Operating Protocols to handle in a practice setting
  • Where to get more training
  • Case Examples

Adam Lippe, Esq., Chief of the Animal Abuse unit at the Office of the State's Attorney - Baltimore County, will discuss the law, expectations of veterinarians and case studies.




We will have RACE certification for this event and will provide light refreshments. A full dinner will not be available at our venue - please plan accordingly.
