WORKSHOP

This is class 5: Reportage drawing - capture the action of an event!
(here is class 1.)
(here is class 2.)
(here is class 3.)
(here is class 4.)

This is the last class and the culmination of the 5 class sketching series. We will go to Bay to Breakers and draw the craziness that is that event. We will make use of all the content of the previous classes, but apply them in a much more dynamic environment. We will draw people on the move, aim for a sense of place and tell a story within it all. We will do a few warm up and review exercises and then students will explore largely on their own. This is graduation time!

I will offer coaching to students to overcome their obstacles and reinforce previously covered concepts in a highly personalized way. This class is recommended for students who have taken at least 2 workshops with me during this series, or before. If this does not apply to you, please contact me before signing up.

A material list, handout and further details will be made available after sign up about a week before the class.
Number of students: min.8/ max.15

INSTRUCTOR

When he was 9 years old, Oliver wanted to be an artist, a scientist and a pirate. He had a gallery in his bedroom and caught salamanders for his terrarium. Fast forward: Oliver holds a PhD in molecular biology, and in 2015 combined his passions: He runs an illustration service focused on sciency topics.

Oliver loves reportage and has published a travelogue No Road In No Road Out: Slowboating the Amazon, which was selected as a finalist for the Reportager Award. He tends to see the humorous and ironic and has taught sketching workshops in the Bay Area and Europe.
