Replacing the Dirty Dozen
Native alternatives to replace common invasive plants.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have rescheduled this event to June 9, 2021 at 7pm (originally May 26). We apologize for any inconvenience. This session will be recorded and the recording link sent out to all registered attendees.
PLEASE NOTE: You MUST register by 5pm the day before the event. We will not process registrations after this time.
Some of our most popular garden plants have gone rogue and now threaten our natural areas and biodiversity. We’ll look at the “Dirty Dozen” – the most egregious of these invaders - and talk about some great replacements for the garden.
This webinar will be presented by Connie Schmotzer. Connie recently retired as York County’s Extension Educator in Consumer Horticulture and is now coordinating the Penn State Master Gardener statewide pollinator programs. Prior to joining Penn State Extension, she taught school in Williamsburg, VA and worked as a naturalist with the National Park Service in Wyoming. She has a B.A. from Dickinson College and has done graduate work in soils at Montana State.
This webinar is presented in partnership with the following organizations: Community Conservation Committee, Penn State Extension York County, and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.
The Community Conservation Committee (C3) is an approved 501C3 non-profit with an education and awareness mission. We strive to offer practical solutions to enhance and protect our local ecosystems in ways that everyone can understand and embrace. We rely on support from private individuals and local businesses to continue our programs, so please consider supporting us by making a tax-deductible donation.
