Repairing the World: Jewish Artists in Chicago in the First Half of the Twentieth Century

This survey of Jewish artists working in Chicago in the early 20th century will consider how Jewish values were embedded in their visual imagery and how Judaism impacted their art. It will also look at their interaction with the wider art community in the city.

About the instructor: Susan Weininger is Professor Emerita of Art History at Roosevelt University. She has curated exhibitions and written extensively on Chicago artists, and she has a special interest in the Jewish art community in Chicago before 1945.
