Description

Repair Public

Sunday, November 24, 12pm – 3:30pm

Do you have your grandmother’s old lamp in a back corner needing fixing, a fan that doesn’t do what is supposed to, a pile of clothing that needs repair, bring them to Hitchcock on Sunday, November 24th and work with one of the many “fixers” to bring your item back to life! We must fight this throw away mentality and fixing things is fun, plus oh some much cheaper and better for the environment than buying another. Visit this link https://repairpublic.org/what-to-bring/ to learn what to bring and what not to bring. Free, registration appreciated

DO bring:

  • Small appliances
  • Small furniture or woodworking (chairs or smaller)
  • Clothing / Textiles
  • Toys
  • Garden tools
  • Lamps
  • Electronic items*
  • …anything else you want to fix that isn’t on the “DON’T” list.
  • Bicycles and bicycle-related things**
    • Tents, canvas things, larger furniture items, patio stuff.

Generally speaking, DON’T bring:

  • Computers
  • Things under warranty
  • Things that need welding (we don’t have a space to do that publicly yet)
  • Anything living
  • Big or heavy things.***
