About this event

The Lead Service Line Replacement Collaborative has developed an online toolkit to help communities across the United States develop and implement replacement programs and hosts a series of webinars to address specific topics related to this work.

Lead service line replacement at rental properties has its own set of unique challenges, including hard-to-reach property owners, lack of incentives, and other barriers. Effective communication and coordination with community members is an important piece of any replacement program to help people understand the risks posed by lead service lines and what they can expect from the program. However, this kind of engagement can be more challenging when the person who pays the bills and the person who drinks the water are not the same, such as at tenant-occupied properties.

This panel-style webinar will explore the challenges associated with lead service line replacement at tenant-occupied properties and examples of what communities are doing to overcome them. We’ll hear about approaches taken in Newark and Denver and learn more about best practices from a healthy homes expert. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask panelists questions related to lead service line replacement at rental properties during the Q&A portion of the webinar. You can submit questions ahead of time in the registration form.
