Renée Yoxon is, by now, a recognized gem of the Canadian jazz landscape. Renée’s clear, distinct and decidedly unembellished vocal style has invited not only critical respect and praise, but also the admiration of humble jazz listeners all over the world.
On Sunday, March 12, from 3pm to 5pm, Renée will be giving a vocal jazz masterclass in the heart of downtown Toronto at 120 Diner. Eight participants will have the opportunity to perform one or two tunes with a professional accompanist and be critiqued.
Suitable for singers of all levels of experience. Some jazz knowledge is recommended. Participants will be required to bring their own charts. (Please contact us in advance if you need assistance preparing charts.) Auditing tickets will also be sold for those who wish to attend the masterclass without participation.
At 6pm Renée Yoxon will be performing a tribute to David Frishberg with the funniest jazz singer Toronto has to offer, Ilana Waldston. Those who wish to attend both the workshop and the show will be able to purchase packages and save money on both!
Ticket prices are as follows:
Workshop Participant: $50
Workshop Participant + Show: $60
Workshop Auditor: $20
Workshop Auditor + Show: $30
120 Diner Accessibility Info: 120 Diner has multiple levels on the main floor with stairs connecting them. There are chairs with backs at tables, booths, and bar stools with no back.
