This TRAINING SEMINAR is an intensive two-day grants compliance workshop for TRIO grantees in legislation, regulation, and budget.

About this event

This TRAINING SEMINAR is an intensive two-day grants compliance workshop structured as a training and technical assistance workshop. Join compliance and grants management experts from the Renaissance Training Team to extend your knowledge and understanding about the federal compliance requirements that govern grant funded programs (with emphasis on the federal TRIO programs). 

The primary objective for the TRAINING SEMINAR is to assist federal grant recipients in understanding compliance requirements. Special insight will be provided on how to identify the hierarchy of compliance and the legislative and regulatory guidance that impact federal grant awards. Training participants will also learn how to apply legislative and regulatory requirements within their grant funded program for compliance, and design a compliance management plan.

  • Federal grants compliance checklists, job aids, and resources, and a compliance management plan

Training session topics include: the federal compliance framework, program specific regulatory conditions, program guidelines for managers, financial and budget management systems for grant recipients, cost principles and allowable costs, procurement standards for grants, site visits and audits, and record keeping for compliance and performance reporting.

Organizer of Renaissance P2 Training Seminar | Dallas, TX (2021-22)

The Renaissance TRIO Training Project is one of the cadre of training programs that provide professional development for programs funded within the Office of Federal TRIO Programs by the US Department of Education. Each project provides specific deliberables that support the needs of staff employed in, participating in, or preparing for employment in projects funded under thee Federal TRIO Programs in one of six absolute priorities.  Renaissance is currently funded to provide training in the following priority:

Priority 2 -- budget management and the statutory and regulatory requirements for operation of projects funded under the Federal TRIO Programs.

The Renaissance Education Group, Inc. operates a high quality training unit, as benchmarked against national standards, and as evidenced by its approved authorized provider of CEU's through the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET).  IACET provider # 1307525. Dr. Kenneth Mitchell is a Board Certified Coach (BCC) and serves as the Project Director for the Renaissance TRIO Training Project as a grant funded program with the US Department of Education.
