MODULE LEADERS: Rev. Allison Palm and Sadie Kahn-Greene

LOCATION: Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua, NH at 58 Lowell St, Nashua, NH 03064

Worship is the central activity of congregational life. Through worship we gather together to respond not only to the needs of the individual but also to the community. It is a sacred time and when done well sends us forth to be and act on our best selves.

A foundation in worship is essential for a religious educator. Understanding worship, its place in congregational life, and its craft and presentation is critical to the religious educator’s work. The acquisition of skills, resources, knowledge, and practice can feed enthusiasm and confidence to plan and present worship well.

The overall goals of this module are:

  • To explore worship formation
  • To appreciate the range of worship experiences
  • To gain resources and skills for the craft of worship
  • To understand and practice the power of stories in worship
  • To evaluate the aspects and impact of a worship service

ABOUT THE TRAINERS:

Sadie Kahn-Greene (left) Rev. Allison Palsm (right)

Sadie Kahn-Greene is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist and Credentialed Religious Educator in her 15th year as a religious professional. Sadie joined the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua as Director of Faith Formation in 2017. Sadie seeks to engage all ages with what it means to be Unitarian Universalist. She works to inspire thoughtfulness, build relationships, and strengthen our ability to do good in our world and crafting worship is one of her favorite ways to do just that! Sadie is grateful to the Renaissance program that supported her learning as a religious educator and looks forward to leading another module. This will be Sadie's 4th time leading the Worship module and is excited to teach this newly revised version! Sadie and Allison are a worship leading team at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua who work collaboratively to craft engaging worship for all ages. They are excited to share what they love about leading worship together and connecting with participants.

Rev. Allison Palm has served as Minister of the UU Church of Nashua since 2015. She is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist and a Minnesota native.
