Tour Description

Tour Host: Ingrid Steenhuisen

Roam and reminisce about the Little Mountain area with long-time resident Ingrid Steenhuisen for an insider's take on the neighbourhood's history and in particular the former Little Mountain housing complex.

Ingrid will share her knowledge of the WWI and WWII veterans and their families, seniors and disabled who were amongst all the early families making this site a fully balanced, mixed-income community.

Tour Host Bio

Ingrid Steenhuisen is a born and raised Vancouverite, who has also been a long-time resident and volunteer of the Little Mountain/Riley Park/South Cambie neighbourhood. She has an in-depth knowledge and insight into all of the intangibles of community, as well as the physical structures that make up this fantastic and vital neighbourhood.

She believes community is not just about the people, but also about the happiness gained from giving to others, and when offered, provides a meaningful sense of purpose and pride.

Special Instructions

There are no washrooms, amenities or services on-site, but there is a corner grocer nearby.

This tour is wheelchair accessible.
