Event description

Description

Listen and engage with a distinguished panel featuring members of Houston’s political and religious scene. Created by students in “Sociology of Religion,” a course at Rice University, this evening will explore topics such as the separation of church and state, interfaith/intrafaith relations, immigration, abortion, Islamophobia, LGBT rights, religious extremism, and religious leaders’ impact on political discourses and perspectives. Due to the recent change in the political atmosphere, the Rice students decided to study the interplay between religion and politics by holding this timely event.

The panelists featured are Congressman Gene Green, Annise Parker, Rev. Troy Treash, Rev. Joshua Mitchell, and Rev. Sammie Dow.

Dr. Craig Considine will be moderating.

Please RSVP at the following link, so enough refreshments can be provided.
