WhatChecking for Understanding: Adjusting Instruction

As the old adage tells us, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

This is especially true of re-teaching. Whether you’re re-teaching all the key points to the class with “Do Over,” re-teaching just one key idea with “Pinpoint,” or following up with students one-on-one or in small groups with “Check In,” it helps to vary your re-teaching, even if the variation is something small: highlighting a particular misconception, providing additional or different examples. In this session, you will learn how to adjust instruction based on student data collected “in the moment.”
