Let's talk about relationships! We know that relationships and referrals are so important in business, and yet how best should we approach it? Relationships with colleagues in other sectors of the industry are more natural, and yet many professionals don't seem to approach them in the right way. And then many companies, big and small, sadly, approach their competitors as the enemy. In fact, a relationship with your competitors can be a revenue generation tool, and your biggest referral source, a useful and relevant sounding board, and the best kind of help when you need it.

  • Transforming the competitive relationship into a collaborative one.
  • Identifying your direct competitors vs indirect ones.
  • How to initiate a relationship, with colleagues and competitors, and how to make that relationship beneficial for both of you.
  • Is there a trick to referral lists - both of the venue and other vendors?
  • Understanding what makes you and/or your business different and who your ideal client is, and what questions to ask to find out the same from your colleagues and competitors. We'll develop and practice your elevator pitch, if you don't already have one.
