Vixen, Santa, and Mrs. Claus are returning to Lost River Cave thanks to generous support from an Anonymous Donor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does everyone need a ticket?
A: Kids 17 years and younger need a ticket. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Adults 18 years and older do not need a ticket this year. Please indicate in your registration how many adults will be in your party so we can prepare enough hot chocolate.
Q: Do I need to bring any money to the event?
A: A $10 donation per family is encouraged to support family activities at Lost River Cave. Donations can be made onsite during the event with cash, check or credit card.
Lost River Cave will be selling plush reindeer antlers for $5 each while supplies last.
Q: Can I take pictures of Vixen and the other animals?
A: Yes! Be sure to bring your camera or smartphone. Take as many photos as you like. Share them on social media with the hashtag #LRCReindeer. We encourage you to capture the memory.
Q: Is this an indoor or outdoor event?
A: This is an outdoor event. “There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.” Be sure to dress for the weather (i.e. hats, gloves, jackets and warm shoes if needed). You can warm up around the campfire and sip hot chocolate. The gift shop will be open for shopping, warmth and restroom facilities. This event will take place rain, snow, or shine.
Q: Why has Vixen been invited to Lost River Cave?
A: Lost River Cave believes understanding your connection to the natural world begins with experiencing it. We hope you'll come make a wonderful winter memory learning about reindeer habitat and how their noses, fur, hooves, eyes and antlers have adapted to help them survive.
