About this event
Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, we worked with local filmmaker Paula Ann Mitchell to document the hard work and artistic contributions of our local students who created Stitched Together, an exhibit that is open through the fall in our Spring St. courtyard and front windows.
Ticket proceeds from the premiere of this short film support the Renter's future K-12 programming.
Option A: Join us in person at Ole Savannah Southern Table & Bar, located on Kingston's Rondout waterfront.
5:30pm Film Screening
6:00pm Outdoor Buffet
Option B: Receive the link via email and premiere the film from your home. Link will "drop" at 5:30 PM on Monday, September 13th.
Stitched Together is a collaborative exhibit, with students from Kingston Catholic, Rhinebeck High, and Ulster BOCES, that uplifts the stories of immigrant and working women in our community, past and present. Inspired by a 1918 Kingston Daily Freeman article listing the names of shirt factory employees, and an historic photo of women working at F. Jacobson and Sons Shirt Factory, students used historical research, writing, and sewing skills to help understand, imagine, and retell the life stories of nine historical girls and women.
COVID Requirements: Masks required indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
