About this Event

The JFC is hosting the inaugural Committee of the Whole (COTW) Summit on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at 9:00 am at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Jefferson Auditorium. The COTW Summit will bring together professionals involved in emergency preparedness to include emergency managers, law enforcement, fire, security specialists, safety officers, and continuity partners, among others to collaborate on relevant issues impacting Federal entities within the National Capital Region (NCR).

    As Deputy Administrator for Resilience, Daniel Kaniewski leads all of FEMA's pre-disaster programs including those aimed at preparing individuals and communities for disasters, enhancing capabilities of state and local response agencies, strengthening vulnerable infrastructure, insuring against catastrophic losses, and supporting continuity of operations/government. He was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 14, 2017 and is currently FEMA's second ranking official. Full Biography.

The JFC was launched by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Office of National Capital Region Coordination (ONCRC) as a mechanism to coordinate preparedness activities among Federal partners in the NCR. The committee brings together Federal interagency professionals involved in emergency preparedness to address evolving challenges in the region. To learn more click here.
