About this event

NOTE 1: Please select the number that corresponds with the number of kids you are signing up for an Adath Youth Program. Under CONTACT INFORMATION please fill in with the parent contact information. Next, under REGISTRATION should also be filled in with Parent 1's information. There will be marked fields below for parent 2 and teen information.

NOTE 2: You will need your health insurance information to complete this form.

NOTE 3: If you would like to avoid paying a 2.5% credit card processing fee, please DO NOT fill out this registration form. Instead call Sue Shrell Leon at suel@adath.net or 818.599.1785 to work out registration and payment.

2021-2022 Adath Youth Programs:

8-12 Grade Programs:

USY: In order to participate in most USY functions (i.e. Regional Conventions, Chapter Membership Retreat, etc.) you must pay dues and become an official member of USY. Your USY membership dues helps to offset administrative and program costs associated with the Youth Department. If you plan to participate in any of these activities throughout the year, please send this form in and pay your dues now, and we'll be sure to include you on our mailings about conventions, and our fantastic USY programming throughout the year.

Cost: $90

TEN@Adath (9th-12th grade): Teen Educational Network at Adath is our congregation-based experiential learning program providing a dynamic space for teens to deepen their Jewish identity, expand their learning and connect with ancient wisdom in the world around us.

Cost: $240

Ten@Adath includes Tuesday Classes and Monthly Heschel Society Study:

TEN@Adath Tuesday Classes: Tuesday evenings from 5:15 pm - 7 pm beginning October 5, 2021 through May 2022 (exact dates will follow). 5:15 pm veggie/dairy dinner and social time (according to current COVID-19 protocols), 5:45 pm minyan, 6 pm class. Tuesday evening class is followed by USY lounge night from 7 pm -8:15 pm (see USY membership fee).

9th grade Class: Big questions on theology, leadership and life - with Hazzan Dulkin

10th grade Class: Confirmation - Getting Beyond your Jewish ABCs: Power and Responsibility in a Changing World - with Rabbi Weininger

11th - 12th grade Class: Mussar and Midot (developing soul/character traits) - with Rabbi Kravitz/Heidi Schneider​

Monthly Heschel Society Study: for 8-12 grade students during Shabbat Kiddush lunch is at 12:15 - 1:15 pm, beginning October, 2021 to May 2022 (exact dates will follow).​

Shevet (8th-12th Grade, currently enrolling 8th and 9th graders) 2021-2022 schedule: Meets Monthly during the School Year

The Shevet program has been graciously supported by a donor, this is reflected in the registration fee, and we will use this donation within our sessions as we discuss the importance of how distributions of Tzedakah occur in our community.

Shevet, a program of Moving Traditions, (www.movingtraditions.org), is a brotherhood for boys in grades 8-11 that builds self-esteem, leadership skills, Jewish identity, and great friendships. Shevet has been offered at Adath since 2011.

Rosh Hodesh (8th-12th Grade, currently enrolling 8th-10th graders) schedule: Meets Monthly during 2021-2022 School Year

Rosh Hodesh, a program of Moving Traditions, is a contemporary monthly celebration of the ancient New Moon holiday for girls in grades 8-12 that builds self-esteem, leadership skills, Jewish identity, and great friendships. Rosh Hodesh has been offered at Adath since 2005.

5-7 Grade Programs:

Kadima: In order to participate in most KADIMA functions (Regional KADIMA Kallah,etc.) you must pay dues and become an official member of Kadima. Dues help to offset administrative and program costs associated with the Youth Department. If you plan to participate in any of these activities throughout the year, please complete this form and pay your dues now, and we'll be sure to include you in our mailings about conventions, and our fantastic Kadima programming throughout the year.

Cost: $60

* Every teen upon becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah at Adath receives a free one-year Kadima membership. It is good for the 7th grade year only. Just complete this form, then see the note on pricing below.

K-4 Grade Programs:

Junior Congregation: How Torah Comes Alive! Sue Shrell Leon, Director of Youth Engagement, leads our experiences with the Torah each Shabbat as we learn the prayers and blessings, and bring each Torah portion to life through 'Parsha Scenes' – creative story telling by our teen staff! Register to attend any or all sessions.

Please be aware :

All programming is in person and subject to take place virtually if needed due to COVID-19 as decided by Adath's COVID-19 advisory committee consisting of public health professionals.

It is required for all those ages 12 and over entering Adath's building or attending in-person services or programming, whether indoor or outdoor, to be fully vaccinated and properly masked unless medically ineligible.
