Event description
Assessing Sustainability with the Green Masters Program, Networking through Collaboration and Sustainability in Finance.

About this Event

Join us for a Regional Sustainability Event

This program is designed to dive into the following:

  1. Leveraging use of the Green Masters Program
  2. Regional networking, collaboration and support for sustainability
  3. Emerging financial trends and their connections to Sustainability

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Persons interested in learning about sustainability and how it adds value from regional businesses, those interested in sharing and exploring how to leverage the use of the Green Masters Program, those interested in expanding networking opportunities in the region and anyone interested the learning more about growing importance of sustainability in financial decision making.

PROGRAM DETAILS

1. Leveraging the Green Masters Program

The Green Masters Program (GMP) helps translate sustainability success into business success and gives you a way to organize and share information with your employees, supply chain, and customers. Whether your business has a sustainability program or not, the Green Masters Program helps move your organization forward by providing a framework to develop systems for your programming and overall engagement.

Whether just starting to use the GMP or a seasoned veteran in sustainable practice, you will hear about how to produce value with the program and how to develop strategies to increase overall breadth and depth of your sustainability participation.

This facilitated dialogue will:

  • Be led by both developers and practitioners
  • Explore and share the benefits of using the Green Masters Program as a tool
  • Dive into how to collect and organize information to answer the questions in the Green Masters application (and for sustainability metrics in general)

2. Regional Networking, Collaboration and Support

This portion of the event will collaboratively explore a range of topics and offer opportunities to share strategies and skills for building sustainability into your business. Together we will explore ways to address reporting frameworks, certifications and stewardship opportunities along with operational needs such as survey fatigue, supply chain engagement and stakeholder engagement.

3. Emerging Reach of Sustainability in Financial & Investment Decision Making

At the most recent WI Sustainable Business Conference (held in Milwaukee last December), one of the most popular sessions was on socially responsible investing (SRI). SRI is a branch of investing where investors consider the environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of a company. SRI is one of the hottest investing strategies currently and many businesses feel compelled to report on their ESG performance. In addition, young professionals are keen to have SRI options included in their 401(k) options.

We’ll explore the interest of investors in SRI, how companies are responding to the pressure to provide ESG information, and how sustainability is being integrated into financial decisions.
