Description

Pediatric Asthma: When a Child Can't Breathe, Nothing Else Matters

Conference Description

An oceanfront, one-day course on the latest evidence-based science and practicalities of pediatric asthma and the complete pediatric airway. Earn CME/CNE or continuing education credits and network with regional medical providers.

Asthma is a heterogeneous inflammatory disease. Children are not little adults and their asthma treatment plans must recognize the unique properties of the pediatric airway and medication. Participants will learn the unique features of the pediatric airway and apply clinical knowledge specific to the pediatric patient. We will identify the comorbidities that challenge the pediatric asthmatic and gain knowledge of difficult-to-control asthma. We will study complex cases based on a multidisciplinary approach. (Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Allergy). The latest evidence based treatments and approaches will give caregivers the tools to help asthmatic children achieve optimal outcomes and decrease morbidity.

Objectives: Upon completion, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the unique properties of the pediatric airway
  2. Recognize and treat the comorbidities of asthma
  3. Implement specific pharmacologic and medical treatments for difficult-to-control asthma
